Project: Mardo
Designed by Matthew Walsh and built by Garbutt & Walsh, Mardo was the committee boat for the 1932 Olympic games Yachting events. She has been in the same family for over 70 years, and we have been lucky enough to help her owners maintain her for the past few decades. A significant modification was the design and installation of a metal bracket that carried bulkhead strength across the vessel, whilst creating a walk-in engine room that now feels part of the original design. The boat exhibits a knowledge of seamanship and attention to small details that only comes with long use by an invested owner.
